Victory for Sjövall in the First Round of the FIP Silver Tournament in Australia
Finnish Max Sjövall and Australian Dominic Bechard won in the main draw's first round of the FIP Silver Australian Padel Open tournament in Sydney on Friday, January 3, 2025, defeating Swedes Max Björkman and Victor Forsberg in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
As a curiosity, it can be mentioned that Max Björkman is the son of Swedish tennis legend Jonas Björkman.
With the win, the pair advanced to the second round, where they will face Australians Patrick "Pat" Rafter and Marious Zelba.
52-year-old Rafter is best remembered as a two-time US Open tennis champion (1997/1998).
