Sjövall's Excellent Form Continues at FIP Silver Melbourne Tournament
Finnish Max Sjövall and Australia's top player Dominic Bechard have progressed confidently to the semifinals of the FIP Silver Melbourne tournament. The duo's skills were particularly evident in the quarterfinal, where they defeated Swedish Jonas Björkman and Australian Sam Ashenden in a tight three-set match with scores of 6–2, 3–6, 6–4.
The victory secured Sjövall and Bechard a place among the four best in the tournament, where they will face the Spanish duo, Roberto Belmont and Victor Turin.
Belmont, ranked 180th in the FIP ranking (150 points), and Tur, ranked 198th (122 points), will certainly provide tough opposition.
The semifinal match will be played on Sunday, January 12, 2025, with the tournament final following later on Sunday afternoon.
