Sjövall Advanced to Quarterfinals in FIP Silver Tournament in Australia
Finland's Max Sjövall and Australian Dominic Bechard won on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in the second round of the main draw of the FIP Silver Australian Open tournament against the Australian pair Pat Rafter and Marious Zelban after a 2.5-hour battle and three sets with scores 7-6, 6-7, 6-3.
With the victory, Sjövall and Bechard cleared their way to the quarterfinals, where they will face the tournament's fifth-seeded Dutch pair Julian Prins and Youp De Kroon.
Last season, Prins, who competed a lot, is ranked 220 (82 points) in the FIP ranking, and De Kroon is ranked 228 (71 points).
Sjövall and Bechard will face the Dutch pair in the quarterfinal match on the afternoon of Saturday, January 4, 2025.
The semifinals and finals of the tournament will be played on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
