Finnish Junior Joa Takala Participates in FIP Promises Tournament in Spain
The FIP Promises tournament is held in Valencia, Spain, from January 9th to 12th, 2025, played indoors at the Family Sport Center. The tournament provides young padel talents an opportunity to compete and develop in an international environment.
The tournament features four category divisions divided by age groups: boys' and girls' categories under 12, under 14, under 16, and under 18.
Junior players from around the world, especially numerous players from the sport's leading nation Spain, participate in the Valencia tournament.
Joa Takala, a 16-year-old belonging to Finland's padel elite, participates in the under-18 category in Valencia together with Swedish player Filip Sterner. Takala has risen to rank 17 in the Finnish men's ranking and has achieved good results in last season's FIP tournaments across Europe.
Sterner, on the other hand, is one of Sweden's most promising juniors and represented his country in last year's junior European Championships.
Takala and Sterner will start their tournament directly from the second round against Beni Gomez and Oscar Mendoza.
The second round and quarter-finals are played on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, while the semi-finals and final are scheduled for Sunday, January 12th, 2025.
