New Americano Formats
7 ways to run an Americano night — now in Padelution
We’ve just launched a new version of our Americano software with 7 tournament formats built in — from classic rotation to skill-based matchmaking and court ladders. Pick your format, add players, and let Padelution handle the schedule, live scoring, and standings.
The 7 formats
1. Americano
The classic. Partners rotate every round so everyone plays with and against different people. Points are tracked individually — most points wins. Perfect for open social nights where the goal is maximum variety.
2. Team Americano
Same idea, but you stay with your partner all night. Fixed pairs rotate through a schedule and face every other team. Great when people sign up as duos and want to play together.
3. Mexicano
Skill-based and competitive. After each round, pairings are reshuffled based on the standings — so matchups get tighter as the tournament goes on. Individual points decide the winner. Ideal when players want closer games, not just random rotation.
4. Team Mexicano
Fixed partners, dynamic opponents. Your team stays together, but who you face is driven by team standings — so the strongest teams meet more often as the tournament settles. Best of both worlds for competitive team nights.
5. Mixicano
Players are split into Group A and Group B. Every match pairs one player from each group on each side — so you always get cross-group play. Built for mixed-gender nights, or any setup where you want two balanced pools (e.g. beginners vs. advanced) or left side and right side players without collapsing into same-group pairings.
6. Up & Down (King of the Court)
Everyone starts on a court. Winners move up, losers move down. The top court is always the hottest match of the round. No ties — every game has a winner. High energy, easy to follow from the sidelines.
7. Team Up & Down
Same ladder logic, but with fixed partners. Winning teams climb, losing teams drop. The top court becomes the battle for bragging rights. Perfect for partner nights with a competitive edge.
Finished early? Just add another round.
We’ve heard it countless times: “Could we add more rounds?” “Can we have a playoff round based on the standings?” “What about random pairings?”
We wanted to get this right — and now you can. Add New Round lets you decide: restart from the beginning, run a playoff round by standings, or deal a random round. Your session, your call.
Enjoy your Americano sessions!
