League Padel Season 2025 Started Across Finland

Posted by Matias Sarelius

During the weekend 25.-26.1.2025, the Finnish Padel Federation organized League Padel, an inter-club team competition that has quickly grown into one of the country's most popular padel competitions. The 2025 season is already the fourth full league season since it was first played in 2021.

League Padel is being played by a record number of teams, with a staggering 274 teams from 68 different clubs participating. The competition is divided into several series levels: women's and men's Championship series, or Oxdog-Padelliiga, women's first, second, third, and fourth divisions, and men's first, second, third, fourth, and fifth divisions. The women's fourth division and the men's fifth division are entirely new series levels added for this season.

Padel House and Padel Tampere in Strong Form at the Season Opener in Espoo

In the men's Oxdog-Padelliiga, Espoo's Padel House and Padel Tampere started their season excellently, both winning five out of six matches and sharing the top spot in the series after the first weekend. At the bottom of the league table after the opening weekend are Padel House Vantaa and Padel West from Tampere, each winning only one of their six matches.

There was a delightful number of foreign players in the men's teams. The Spanish players Javi Bravo and Antonio Alamillo played for Smash Padel, winning both of their matches convincingly. Representing Jyvaskyla's Padel Adder were Spanish players Nacho Porto and Javier Urena, who reside and coach in Finland. Additionally, the Argentinian Guillermo Demianiuk, who has long lived in Finland, played two victorious matches in Padel House's team.

In the women's league, Padel House took an impressive start to the season by winning all six of their matches. Padel Tampere also started strongly, winning five of their six matches. At the bottom of the league after the weekend are the capital region teams, Padel House Vantaa and Smash Padel, who have not yet managed to open their winning columns.

The League Padel season continues in March when teams will once again compete for superiority in various locations.

The league rounds are organized as concentrated weekend events in padel halls across Finland.
